About Me
I graduated with honors from the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Boğaziçi University in 2014. I completed my master’s degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2018, and my doctoral studies in the same department, which I began in 2018, were completed in 2024. During my Ph.D., I conducted research on peace education at Humboldt University’s Berlin Institute of Migration and Integration Research (BIM) with the support of a TÜBİTAK fellowship. In addition, I contributed to major European-level research projects such as COST and Marie Skłodowska-Curie.
I completed my postdoctoral research at UNESCO RIELA (Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts), with the fellowship from TÜBİTAK. Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher on a TÜBİTAK-funded project focusing on researcher mental health.
In 2023, I completed the Somatic Experiencing Practitioner certification process and became a certified practitioner. With the study titled ‘We are all in this together’: Coping with stress during uncertain times through Somatic Experiencing, I was awarded the Peter Levine Research Award in 2022. I continue my research on peace education, trauma, and the well-being and mental health of academics.
